Realtors have many ways to generate leads for their business. Most realtors still prefer finding leads through offline methods rather than exploring the opportunities in the social media world. However, if you follow the right steps and stay consistent on social media, you won’t have to worry about getting leads as a realtor.
Realtors have many options for generating new leads, such as community Facebook groups, Facebook pages, and Instagram. Nowadays, many realtors are also starting to use platforms like LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter). Those who successfully build their personal brand on social media are seeing significant benefits.
Nowadays, it’s getting harder and harder to build your personal brand on social media as a realtor because of all the competition. Think about it—how many times can Instagram keep pushing home tour videos over and over again? If you really want to build your personal brand as a realtor on social media, you’ve got to do something unique and better than everyone else.
Building a personal brand on social media is a whole different ball game—it takes time and effort. But there’s an alternative for realtors: paid ads, especially Facebook ads.
Facebook ads can be a great way for realtors to generate leads, but only if you follow a step-by-step process. Without experience or proper research, you risk losing all your money,
You can learn Facebook ads, but it requires time and dedication. Now, let’s get to the main topic: How Do Facebook Ads Impact a Realtor’s Business?
Some Realtors Who Get Great Results from Facebook Ads.
Some realtors have tried Facebook ads and got great results, while others ended up losing money because they didn’t know how to run them properly. If you’re a real estate agent looking to generate leads using Facebook ads, you can hire someone to help you. Or better yet, you can trust an expert like me to handle it for you (Haha).
Let’s talk about some realtors who are really benefiting from running Facebook ads. I found these case studies on YouTube, where they share how much success they’ve had using Facebook ads to grow their business.
Case Study – #1
Diana, a real estate agent, started running Facebook ads for her property listings. Instead of running the ads herself, she hired a Facebook ads expert to handle everything for her. In just two months, she earned $14,000 in commission from the leads generated by Facebook ads.
These are impressive numbers, especially for such a short time, and it shows how powerful Facebook ads can be when done right!
Case Study – #2
Damon, another real estate agent, decided to give Facebook ads a try. Just like Diana, he hired a Facebook ads expert to manage his campaigns. Within just 13 days of running ads, Damon closed three transactions.
This shows how effective Facebook ads can be in generating quick results when you have the right strategy and expertise behind them!
There’s no doubt that you need to invest money to run ads, but if you find the right people and use the right strategies, trust me, every single dollar you spend will be worth it. Facebook ads can deliver amazing results when done correctly!
These case studies show how powerful Facebook ads can be when done right, especially for realtors looking to grow their business.
Why do most realtors end up losing their money in Facebook ads?
Now, you’ve seen how some real estate agents got great results using Facebook ads. But before you dive in and start running ads yourself, keep these things in mind:
If you don’t know how to run Facebook ads properly, you could end up wasting your entire ad budget and getting no results from your campaigns. It’s important to understand the basics, like targeting the right audience, creating engaging ad copy, and monitoring your campaign performance. Without proper knowledge, your ads might not deliver the results you’re hoping for.
This is why most realtors and local business owners end up losing money on Facebook ads. They don’t know how to target the right audience, write effective ad copy, or create engaging ad visuals.
If you want to run ads for your business, you can, but make sure to learn these skills first. Alternatively, you can hire a freelancer or agency to handle it for you and save yourself the hassle.
There’s a proper way to run Facebook ads, like following a checklist. If you follow all the steps, there’s a much higher chance you’ll get good results. Facebook actually wants you to succeed because the better your ads work, the more money you’ll spend on the platform.
The Facebook algorithm is really advanced, but you don’t have to overthink it. Just focus on a few things—target the right audience, make good ad creatives, and keep track of your campaigns. If you do these things, you’ll see much better results.
What is the right way to run Facebook ads for realtors?
Let’s talk about the right way to run Facebook ads. By following the right approach, your chances of getting good results can increase significantly.
Don’t worry, I’m not going to explain the full process of setting up Facebook Ads Manager—that’s a whole different topic. Instead, I’m going to share a few key points. If you follow these, there’s a high chance you’ll see great results from your Facebook ads.
There are some important things you need to know. The first is targeting. Obviously, you need to choose the right location and area for your ads. Facebook also gives you the option to select audience demographics and interests. While you can use these to target a specific audience, I actually recommend leaving them as default.
Why? Because the Facebook algorithm is smart enough to figure out which type of people are the best fit for your ads. Over time, it will automatically start targeting those people and optimize your results for you.
Now we come to the most important part: ad images (ad creatives) and ad copies (the offer in your ad). These two elements are critical for the success of your ad.
Your results largely depend on how good these two things are. A great ad creative grabs attention, and a well-written ad copy convinces people to take action. If you get these right, your chances of success increase significantly.
Create ad images that grab attention. You can use a really good picture of a home from your listing, but make sure it’s not an overly expensive-looking image. Don’t write something like “low price” if the image doesn’t match that message. Try to balance everything—use high-quality photos that showcase the property well, and ensure your ad copy aligns with the price and value you’re offering.
If you don’t know what ad copies and offers are, the above paragraph might confuse you. So, first, you need to learn these concepts before you start running ads and expecting results. Once you understand how to create effective ad copies and offers, you’ll be in a much better position to get the results you’re aiming for.
Most realtors don’t have the time to learn everything about creating ad copies and ad creatives. The alternative option is to find someone who can handle this for you—someone with more experience and knowledge in this field. They can create effective ads that get results, saving you time and effort while helping you achieve your business goals.
It’s not that expensive. You can start by spending $2,000 a month—$1,000 for the person handling your ads and $1,000 for your Facebook ad budget. If you’re selling high-ticket items and are willing to invest $2,000 a month, trust me, this can bring you a really good return on investment.

How do realtors use AI to make these processes easier?
If you want to give Facebook ads a try but don’t want to hire anyone, you can use AI to help simplify your work. AI is really advanced these days and can make a big difference in your ad campaigns. Here are some examples of how you can use AI to make your work easier:
You can use tools like ChatGPT to write your ad copies. However, I recommend not relying solely on AI to write your entire ad copy. Instead, take inspiration from AI-generated content and then add your own personal touch to make the copy more unique and authentic. This is how you can create really effective ad copies.
Fun Fact – I used ChatGPT to make this article more valuable and engaging, but it’s not completely written by AI. I added my own input, just like you can do with your Facebook ad copies.
You can take AI’s help to create ad creatives, but I recommend creating them yourself. AI-generated ad creatives might not produce the same results as ones made by humans, as they often lack the personal touch and understanding of your audience’s needs. By creating your own, you can better connect with your target market and make your ads more effective.
AI can be useful in other areas as well, like tracking your ad data and sending automatic messages to leads. However, these are more advanced features. If you’re just starting to run ads for the first time, you can use AI mainly to help write your ad copies. Once you get comfortable with the basics, you can explore other AI tools to further optimize your campaigns.
Should Realtors Use Facebook Ads for Lead Generation?
The answer is yes, you can scale your business quickly using Facebook ads, but the key is to make everything perfect so you can get really good results. As a real estate agent, you likely don’t have the time to learn all the ins and outs, so, as I mentioned earlier, you can hire someone to run the ads for you. Just make sure the person you hire has good experience and knowledge of Facebook ads.
