Yes, you read the title correctly. I used to run an Instagram theme page business, and I successfully grew one of my Instagram pages from 0 to 67K followers.
Now, many people don’t know what a theme page on Instagram is, so let me explain. Imagine you’re a fan of football (soccer). You create a new Instagram profile where you share soccer clips every day, building a community of soccer fans around that niche. That’s what a theme page is an account focused on a specific topic or theme that attracts like-minded followers.
Some big examples of theme pages are @wealth, @pubity (which started as a meme/theme page and later became a brand), and @mindset.therapy. These theme pages make a really good amount of money. If we take a guess, the minimum they’re earning is around $10K per month.
My point isn’t about what these theme pages are doing or how much money they’re making. My focus here is to show how, as a business owner, you can grow your social media presence and use platforms like Instagram to drive more sales or generate leads for your business.
What’s The Difference Between Business Page & Theme Page?
There’s a big difference between a business Instagram profile and a theme page. The main difference is the type of content you can post.
With a theme page, you can post any content as long as it fits your niche, even if it’s not your original content. For example, soccer theme pages don’t create their own content—they rely on clips or images from other sources to keep their audience engaged.
However, if your theme page is in a niche like news or motivation, you have the option to create original content. That’s exactly what big theme pages like @wealth are doing—they’ve shifted to creating their own unique content, which helps them stand out and grow even further.
On the other hand, you can’t take the same approach with a business page. A business profile requires original, branded content that represents your business, your values, and what you offer. Copy-pasting content doesn’t work here because it won’t connect with your audience or build trust in your brand.
For example, if you’re a roofer or a realtor with an Instagram profile, you can’t just download random roofing or home videos and post them on your profile. To grow your business on Instagram, you need to create and post your own original videos.
Why? Because that’s how you build trust with your audience. When people see you in those videos or reels, they start to recognize and connect with you. Over time, this connection builds trust. They know you’re the real person they trust you, and that trust eventually turns your audience into paying customers.
By consistently showcasing your work and personality, your audience becomes confident in the quality of your products or services. This is the key to turning social media followers into loyal customers.
And this is exactly how you generate warmer leads for your business. This is what I’m currently doing—I’m a social media manager and Facebook ads expert. I constantly share free, valuable content on my blog and social media platforms. Over time, if I stick to the right strategies, everything will grow, and I’ll start attracting warmer leads—people who are ready and willing to work with me.
This is what you, as a business owner, need to do. If you’re not already on social media, start now. Create profiles on Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter), and post your work daily. Learn the right strategies to grow your social media presence. I mostly focus on Instagram, as it’s one of the most powerful platforms for businesses right now.
If you’re struggling to grow on Instagram, it’s okay to seek help. Work with someone who has experience in growing Instagram profiles—someone who knows the ins and outs of building a strong presence.
Hire someone who has already grown successful profiles and can do the same for you. You know, someone like me (Haha)! Let’s discuss how I grew my Instagram profiles & how you can do the same.
How I was able to grow Instagram 0 – 67k followers?
I started my Instagram theme pages in the Christianity and Bible verse niche. I’ll even attach some images of my theme pages to show you what they looked like.
When I first started, I tried growing my pages by copying other people’s content. But I failed because Instagram’s algorithm has become really advanced these days. Simply reposting content doesn’t work anymore—it doesn’t get the reach or engagement you need to grow.
That’s when I decided to change my strategy. I started creating original content by taking Bible verses directly from the Bible and designing high-quality posts on Canva. Then, I began posting consistently on my Instagram pages.
Interestingly, I didn’t post a lot of reels. Most of my content consisted of single-image posts, and despite that, I still managed to grow my pages significantly through consistent effort and high-quality original content.
I know some people might think this was just luck, but trust me, it wasn’t. I’ve been able to grow two more profiles from 0 to 15K followers each. So, in total, I now have three pages: @goforspiritual, @holinessthoughts, and @prayerfulbible.
What’s even more rewarding is that I used the audience I built on Instagram to start my business. Now that I have this experience, I can confidently say I know how to grow a profile the right way.
I used my Instagram profiles to attract new clients for my business, and eventually, I sold all three pages to fully focus on my business. Now, I primarily get my clients through cold emails.
How can you grow your Instagram profile as a business owner?
The process of growing an Instagram profile for your business is completely different from growing theme pages. As I mentioned earlier, with theme pages, you can copy and repost anyone’s content. But for your business profile, you need to create original content to build trust and actually convert followers into customers from social media.
I’m talking specifically about reels and short videos. For local businesses like roofers, realtors, plumbers, and others, what you can do is shoot videos while working. This gives your audience a behind-the-scenes look at your services and helps build trust.
For other types of businesses, like e-commerce stores, they can use UGC (user-generated content) to grow their Instagram profiles and other social media accounts. But for local businesses, creating original videos of you and your team in action is one of the most effective ways to connect with your audience and generate leads and also help you to grow your social media profiles.
You have to be consistent on your social media. If you post consistently, there’s a higher chance the algorithm will give you more reach. I know I’m not diving into any specific strategies to grow on Instagram, but here’s the thing: there really isn’t a one-size-fits-all strategy.
If I tell you a strategy today, it’s probably not going to work in 1-2 months because Instagram’s algorithm is constantly changing.
If you think practically and take action, you don’t need to stress too much about strategies—your profile will grow naturally. The key is to observe what others are doing and figure out what type of content is working for them.
Try to focus on providing value to your audience. You can either educate them or entertain them because people won’t follow you if you keep posting the same thing over and over.
If you don’t have enough time for social media, you can hire someone to help. They can give you good content ideas that fit your business.
Make sure the person you hire knows how to grow on social media and can actually help you get results. Like If you want to work with me you can contact me on my email – rudraedge@gmail.com
